World Earth Day

Updated: Apr 28

Earth Day, celebrated annually on April 22, initiated in 1970 to raise awareness about pollution, deforestation and to inspire worldwide action to protect the planet's natural resources.

At Wellness Naturally we hosted a webnair to discuss -  “My health is my right - and my responsibility”.

A healthier tomorrow begins with understanding how deeply "our environment shapes our health”.

We did not inherit the earth from our ancestors — we borrowed it from our children. And we have a responsibility to take care of the earth for them.

Let us pause and ask ourselves - “What is the true cost of environmental degradation ”to our body, our health and our future?

Philosophy

Environmental degradation is no longer just an ecological crisis — it is a human health emergency.

Research consistently links air pollution, soil depletion, water contamination and biodiversity loss to measurable deterioration in human physiological and psychological health.

Science

The earth is not separate from us — it is us. Our environment directly shapes the health of our bodies at a cellular level.

Scientific research has made the answer undeniably clear. Polluted air is linked to rising rates of respiratory diseases and compromises cardiovascular health. Contaminated water disrupts hormonal and immune systems leading to neurological disorders and cancer. Depleted soils reduce the nutritional value of our food.

Awareness

The evidence connecting planetary health to human health is no longer emerging — it is established.

It is undeniable that there is a profound relationship between the health of our planet and the health of our bodies. Yet this significant reality is under-conversed with little focus on the connection of the challenged environment to our health.

Let us understand the integrative, naturopathic tools of conscious living to protect our health.  We must learn to thrive even as the world around us changes.

We believe that healing ourselves and healing our planet are not separate journeys — they are one and the same.
